Rory combines a unique interdisciplinary blend of experience and skills into his career as a sustainable project developer to manage and support the strategic planning and execution of innovative projects that contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally resilient society.

Within Varme Energy, Rory has played a pivotal role in shaping and propelling the company’s mission forward, contributing to its inception and advancing its portfolio of projects integrating waste to energy systems with carbon capture in the Canadian landscape. Throughout this experience, Rory has supported the Varme team across commercial development, corporate development, government relations, investor relations, grant fundraising, marketing and communications.

As an alum of the University of Saskatchewan, Rory holds a B.Sc in Environmental Biology and a Masters in Energy Security. He received accolades from the U of S for his role within the Community Appropriate Sustainable Energy Systems research initiative and was recognized in the 2021 issue of Usask Young Innovator Series for his work to expand the body of knowledge around Canada’s bioenergy industry ecosystem.
