Mayor Barclay was first elected to Innisfail Town Council in 2017 and put her name forward to run as mayor in 2021. Through the strategic planning process, Innisfail Town Council and the Senior Leadership Team identified economic development as a top priority along with environmental sustainability.

The Town of Innisfail hosted the Energy Futures Lab Roadshow in 2022 and from that initiative the Innisfail Energy Hub was born. The Energy Hub is focused on the future of a modern energy system to support business attraction, retention, and expansion, and the development of a new industrial park that includes a solar project.

Mayor Barclay and Council are very proud of the work they and their administration team have accomplished together, and their vision is taking shape, making them a leader in central Alberta.
